National Service Scheme (Unit No: 130)
National Service Scheme works in Government polytechnic college Palakkad under the Technical Cell (Directorate of Technical Education). The NSS has one unit bearing Unit No.130. The NSS aims at developing personality through community service. The NSS unit is headed by the programme officer .NSS is assisted by an advisory board consisting of Principal and all HOD’s. It has an executive committee consisting of two student representatives from each class.
The activities that NSS take up are divided into two categories; 1) Regular activities 2) Virtual Camp activities. The regular activities include campus cleaning and beautification, orientation programme, community visit, tree plantation, educational programme, celebration of important days, ,awareness classes on the importance of blood donation, blood donation programme etc.., NSS also undertake socio-economic and health survey in selected villages and remedial measures are suggested based on the data collected. It conducts cultural programmes and invited lectures on environmental and educational subjects in virtual mode [online].
NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME TECHNICAL CELL UNIT NO:130 REPORT (2022-2023)
National service scheme technical cell unit no: 130, an altruistic platform for students and staff for coordinating and conducting social service activities among students and public, it also act.
As a technology transfer, skill training, altruistic engineering service and personality development platform moreover NSS unit act as a moulding platform for social engineers.
