HoD's Message
Welcome to the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Government Polytechnic College, Palakkad. We started our journey in the year of 1980 and offered a Diploma in Foundry Technology program. Over the last four decades, we have grown our expertise and competence in the core Mechanical Engineering education.
The sanctioned students strength is 60 per year. Our department offers science-based diploma in engineering curriculum under the Directorate of Technical Education. The primary focus of our curriculum is to impart technical know-how to students, promote their problem solving skills and innovation of new technologies. The course contents are periodically updated for introducing new scientific and technological developments by the State Board of Technical Education, Kerala.
Our department has a distinguished record in both teaching, result and placement. We have gained first place in the results many times in our state. Faculty members have excellent academic credentials and are recruited by the state level agency.
